- I am working on a cellular emergency location product. Currently a key
- issue is the time it takes for a modem to connect using V.22 bis and V.25
- autoconnect protocols (~ 10 sec total for V.2bis at 2400 baud). We only use half-
- duplex operation and send a sgort ( <1 kbyte) burst of data. Does
- anyone have any suggestions on how to shorten the connect time for the
- modems? From the literature, it looks like of we don't use auto-connect,
- and echo-suppression per V.25, the connect time should be shortened. I have had
- zero luck with trying to configure a Zxcel modem w/o the autoconnnect tones though.

- Any suggestions?
